WA’s Dedicated Children’s Hospital
The QEII re-development is a major capital works program, forming part of the States $5 billion investment in health care building projects over the next four years.
In July 2011, the State Government announced the Stage One Managing Contract to design and construct WA’s new $1.2 billion children’s hospital was awarded to John Holland Pty Ltd.
Located in Nedlands on the QEII Medical Centre site, the $1.2 billion Perth Children’s Hospital (PCH) will be the new home for specialist paediatric care for children and adolescents in WA. The new hospital will be the state’s sole dedicated children’s hospital, providing the highest level of care to children from all over the state. The PCH will have 298 beds (48 more than PMH) and the design of the building allows for future expansion. Construction of the new hospital began in January 2012 and is due to open in late 2015.
