Critical expansion to medical services and facilities in Perth’s northern corridor.
Joondalup Health Campus expanded as part of a $393m redevelopment which is delivered extensive new facilities and expanded services for public and private patients.
The upgrade included construction of a new central plant building, a three-level public ward block, emergency department, private ward, St John Ambulance centre, a new childcare facility, and parking for 1,500 cars.
The project was funded by the Western Australia State Government ($230m), Ramsay Health Care ($163m) and the Federal Government ($25m), with local universities (Curtin, Edith Cowan, UWA) contributing $6m towards the new clinical school.
Now complete, the hospital has 498 beds for public patients and 145-beds for private patients. The expansion ensures the vast majority of people living in Perth’s northern corridor will be able to receive the care they need at Joondalup Health Campus. Construction started in September 2009 and was completed in 2013.
