2009
GCS Group now operates as a consolidated group, providing products and services for its customers under various trading names.
2008
In September GCS Group launched GCS Hire, a new plant hire division offering a comprehensive range of general plant hire and temporary fencing to customers across the Perth metropolitan area.
In July, GCS announced the acquisition of a 75% interest in hire and sales provider, Coastal Hire Pty Ltd, provider of a range of construction services to customers in the fast-growing South West corridor of Western Australia.
In January 2008 GCS Group acquired Newave Contracting Pty Ltd and Blueline Contracting Pty Ltd, Western Australian concrete contracting businesses servicing Perth’s commercial construction and maintenance industries. The synergy between CASC, Newave and Blueline provides a comprehensive service to customers in the building services market.
In the same month GCS Group launched operations in the North West with the opening of GCS Northwest Pty Ltd in Karratha Western Australia to take advantage of the numerous opportunities being created by the resources boom.
2007
GCS acquired Western Australian site accommodation provider, Budget Portables in November 2007, which significantly increases GCS Group’s presence in the temporary site accommodation market.
In August 2007 GCS acquired Bayswater Scaffold Hire, which has been active in the Perth residential construction industry for over 25 years. This is the first acquisition since listing on the ASX.
GCS Group lists on the Australian Stock Exchange in August.
In May 2007 the Group acquired CASC Constructions Pty Ltd, commercial formwork contractors engaged primarily in the commercial sector with additional experience in civil formwork.
2006
A series of transactions in July 2006 established previous acquisitions as wholly-owned subsidiaries of GCS Group.
In March 2006 GCS Site Services acquired a minority position in Just Hire & Sales and adds chemical toilets, scaffolding and material hoists primarily for the residential sector to its suite of services.
In the same year, the Group acquired Modern Scaffolding, and BFA, with a product range of scaffolding and material hoists, primarily for the residential sector.
2005
GCS Site Services was established in July 2005; providing hire and sale of temporary site accommodation for all industry sectors.
2004
In July 2004 GCS Shareholders acquired a minority position in GCS Rapid Access. GCS Rapid Access acquired Construction Sales and Hire from CASC Hire, which had been established for approximately 10 years.
GCS Rapid Access also acquired Ed Hartley Timbers, a key agency for the supply of formwork related products.
2003
The GCS Group was established in July 2003 following the acquisition of Security Scaffolding, the operators of which had been servicing the Western Australian market for approximately 25 years.
