Community
GCS is committed to supporting the regions in which the Group operates today, tomorrow and in the future.
The Group is committed to working honourably and consistently with the local communities in which it works and endeavours to share its success within these communities.
GCS is a major contributor to community-benefiting activities. The company provides support by way of donations and sponsorships through both the corporate office and the business it owns.
Some of our main sponsorships are as follows;
- GCS has been in partnership with Celebrate WA for four years. Celebrate WA’s objective is to create a positive social environment in which all Western Australians can achieve their potential and aspirations with security.
- GCS has been hosting an annual fund raising event for the Make-A-Wish® foundation for the last 3 years. This year we raised a grand total of $119,610. GCS and Make-A-Wish® are helping to bring magic and joy to children with a life-threatening illness by granting them a cherished wish.
- Youth Focus is a West Australian, non profit community based organization working with young people between 12-18 years of age who are showing early signs associated with suicide, depression and self harm. Youth Focus offers community based individual youth counselling, family therapy and peer support services. GCS has committed to a 3 year team sponsorship arrangement for the annual Albany to Perth 5 day cycle, which in 2009 raised $458,000.
- Our most recent corporate sponsorship is The Australia Cup. This event will showcase yachtsmen of the highest calibre, including America’s Cup crews, and will provide premium match racing for the World’s highest ranked competitors. This event will be conducted annually on Matilda Bay and City of Perth waters, Western Australia.
The overall objective of the group’s donations and sponsorship policy is to enhance its reputation as a good corporate citizen by making direct contributions to the community in addition to the general economic benefits following from its activities.
